A Lana Lusa Breakfast

A Lana Lusa Breakfast

We love food, we love passion and we love the passion for food. It would seem so does Lana Lusa.

Located over in Al Wasl at Wasl 51 which like it’s nearby cohort Dar Al Wasl, is quickly becoming a go to spot for quirky, independent restaurants and eateries.

Enter the Portuguese inspired Lana Lusa.

First up it’s a beautifully crafted space filled with upholstered seats, copper light fixtures and a lovely wood tiled floor. Designed by well renowned London design studio Pirajean Lees, Lana Lusa absolutely looks the part and this is further highlighted by the immaculate table top design from the menus to the custom ceramic plates. It’s bright and fun without any hint of being passe. The scent of freshly baked Pastéis de nata only added to the allure of the place….

Our stop was for breakfast and our server Ruben made this an especially enjoyable visit with his amazing verve and impeccable service.

We went for the Avocado Toast and Poached Egg (AED 42) along with the more traditional Portuguese Tosta Mista (AED 48) which is a toasted ham and cheese melted sandwich. Both were faultless, the veal ham as good a substitute to you can get for the real thing. We also very naughtily ordered the French Toast (AED 45) which comes with a side of maple syrup and of course a nice dollop of vanilla ice cream. It was something we definitely didn’t need but needed - you know what I mean!? It to was excellent even though we’re facing an extra few days at the gym for our decision.

We also grabbed half a dozen of the Pastéis de nata to go, they were just too irresistible not to.

Bottom Line:

Everything about Lana Lusa screams authenticity and passion for food, we loved the vibe - we love all the little touches like the old school Portuguese candies served with the bill, and we can’t wait to visit again to try the dinner menu.
