Taking It Back to the Ol' School at Windsor Deli

Every now and then you stumble across an unexpected find.

On a day where all I really wanted was an old school fresh cut sandwich, I was pointed in the direction of the back streets of Windsor to find some sort of milk bar, deli. A few blocks from Chapel Street later and I came to find the Windsor Deli, a true local gem.

Located on the corner of Hornby and James Street, this tiny place harks back to a bygone era and it really made my day.

I went for their Deli Sandwich Number 7 which features Corned Beef, Swiss Cheese and Mustard Pickles, you can choose your own bread and I went for white like school kid, ahh the memories. It was good but the nostalgia value elevated for me making it a great little lunch break worth walking for.

I looked around for a 5 cent bag of mixed lollies but to no avail.

They did however have a bunch of home made cakes and cookies along with a decent coffee.

Hidden and humble, this is one little spot worth a visit.
